How to Watch Film Workshop with Colorado Public Radio's Film Critic Howie Movshovitz
20 Feb 2010 - 7:00am
This two-part workshop will introduce participants to the visual aspects
of film, often the most important-and overlooked-area of a movie. The
first session will serve as “eye training” and is designed to make
students aware of what they actually see on screen, instead of taking in
only the storyline. A series of shorts and clips will be shown by a
number of film makers from various countries and time periods including
Hans Richter, Fernand Leger, Oskar Fischinger and others. After a break,
the feature “Black Narcissus” by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburgur
will be shown. Come join Howie Movshovitz and Anderson Ranch for an
exciting and educational film experience.
Instructor: Howie Movshovitz. This class starts at 4 pm on Saturday and
runs approximately 90 minutes, followed by a break. The screening of
Black Narcissus will begin at 7:00 pm. Skill Level: Open to all.
Tuition: $65 per individual/$115 for a pair registering together.
