World foods – which country inspires your kitchen creativity?

korean cooking classStep through the doors of any major supermarket and it won’t take you long to find the “world foods” isle. Packed to the rooftops with culinary delights inspired from every corner of the globe, you’re sure to find something that satisfies your taste buds – Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Spanish, French, Thai, Indian, Caribbean – it’s all there and it accommodates all levels of expertise, whether you’re an accomplished professional, a budding amateur or a complete beginner in the kitchen – you’ll find the ingredients… or packets and jars (!) to suit your world food style.

So, what if you’re looking to expand on your love of foods from around the world even further than the favourite isle in your local supermarket? What if you want to learn how to make it taste just like the real thing?! The perfect combination of spices… perfect combination of herbs… perfect combination of ingredients… in fact, absolute perfection? There’s no harm in aiming for being the very best, no harm at all, but restricting your efforts to the recipes on the back of your favourite packet of fajita seasoning probably won’t make the cut!

Why not consider a cookery course that focuses on teaching you the way it really should be done? Making pizza or pasta the way the Italians do it… making curry, naan bread and rice the way it’s done in India or creating a Caribbean barbecue banquet that’ll have your guests thinking they’re on the beach in Jamaica with every mouthful. Makes your mouth water, doesn’t it?

There are cookery courses up and down the UK that inspire kitchen creativity from a particular country or region. With weekend breaks, evening classes or summer workshops, you can perfect the art of cooking without the help of a jar here or there that someone else has prepared for you! Fresh ingredients, an understanding of the ways that different flavours work together and an appreciation of the culture within the country in question will equip you with the know-how to wow your friends and family.

So; curry, fajitas, tapas, pizza, chilli, pasta, ciabatta, naan, noodles or stir fry – what would you like to be able to make just the way it’s meant to be? Which course will help you to do that?
