Stephen Wiltshire Rome sketchI was sent this video last week and it totally blew me away. Stephen Wiltshire was born in London and as a child was mute. Aged three, he was diagnosed as autistic. He had no language and lived entirely in his own world. At the age of five his passion for drawing first became apparent and he communicate through this medium. He started with animals, then London buses, and finally buildings. Recently, Stephen drew a Rome cityscape almost perfectly after viewing it from a helicopter. Mind-blowing stuff:

Since then he has drawn, Tokyo Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Madrid, Dubai, Jerusalem and London on giant canvasses. As Stephen had demonstrated, drawing offers a unique way to view the world and communicate your emotions. Learn more about how to refine your drawing skills by attending an art course - there are a number of sketching courses on artsbowl.
